It means we’re past the halfway point of another year. The days are growing shorter. Autumn is in sight, if still a bit distant.
And it means a new bundle of six stories from Spiral Publishing!
Things have been a little crazy this year, so we're happy to have this new bundle of six stories that span a slew of genres. July is not the coolest month in the northern hemisphere, but we hope you can find a nice glass of sweet tea and a ceiling fan to cool you down while you read.
We start off with Jason's When the Spying's Done, which peeks in on a couple of working folks who've put away their daggers and hung their cloaks up between jobs.

Next, Kari takes us to one of my favorite settings, her Appalachian town of Estonoa, where strange isn't uncommon. In The Earworms, the strange consists of mysterious music inundating the town.
Writing the Past takes us back to one man's long-ago, where hope might lie in a future he never imagined.
Kari heads back to Appalachia in The Perfect Shade of Haint Blue, where a young man spends the summer with his Papaw, learning more than he ever has in school.
Next, we're off to far places in the far future, learning that some things never change in Jason's A Real Hero, where a young man has to choose between family traditions and his own desires.
Speaking of traditions, Kari takes an eerie look at community expectations with In the Company of Women, where one misfit tries to resist becoming what others want her to be.

As always, happy reading! We’ll be back next month with a new August Reads bundle, so keep coming back.
And happy reading!
